The Manggarai region is located on the island of Flores in Indonesia and is known for its rich cultural heritage, spectacular natural landscapes, and its fertile land, which produces an abundance of crops and supports a rich diversity of flora and fauna. The people of Manggarai are primarily farmers.

 

However, despite this natural beauty, Manggarai faces many challenges and issues. One of the most significant is poverty, which affects a large part of the local population. As a result, many people struggle to access adequate healthcare, quality education, and basic infrastructure such as clean water, electricity, and sanitation. In addition, children in the region face difficulties in accessing school due to a lack of adequate transportation. They have to walk for nearly an hour each day on rough roads with unsuitable footwear.

 

It is essential, therefore, to implement sustainable solutions to improve the living conditions of the people of Manggarai. Projects led by the Visioncy association aim to address these challenges by working with the local people to develop sustainable and innovative projects, such as coffee production and the creation of a brand: Kafe de Flores. These projects generate income for the local population while preserving the natural environment.
